SOWETO

Following the success of the KICK IT UP! Project in Soweto, S. Africa in 2010, GGM has launched it’s 2nd GGM Academy, training 10 HIV+ girls in Soweto in digital media and citizen journalism. For all of July 2011, see their reports HERE

June-July 2010:

GlobalGirl Media trained 22 high-school-aged girls from underserved communities in South Africa to become participant digital video journalists for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Working in Soweto, they produced over 50 blogs and videos. SEE THEM HERE!


LOS ANGELES

GGM LA launches it’s 2nd Academy training 10 girls from underserved communities in digital media and citizen journalism. The training is taking place throughout July 2011 at the Skirball Center, Los Angeles. Read their reports and see their videos HERE!

June-July 2010:

GlobalGirl Media trained 10 high-school-aged girls from underserved communities in Los Angeles, CA to become participant digital video journalists for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Working in East Los Angeles, they produced over 50 blogs and videos. SEE THEM HERE!



MOROCCO

Global Girl Media (GGM) partnered with the Institute Specialise for Communications and Audivisuele, Rabat (ISCA) to train 48 young Moroccan women as new media digital journalists. The project’s goal was to improve new media literacy for young women and encourage critical engagement by teenage girls, ages 18-22. The girls were from Rabat, Tetouan, Ouarzazate, Marrakesh and Fez and were trained in Rabat for a month. They continue with trainings and reports through 2012. SEE ALL THEIR REPORTS HERE
