Women around the world have gotten tired of being shut out by men and tired of men thinking thatwomen’s only job is being a housewife.
One of these women is Julie Foudy, a fighter, a hero, and a successful woman. Julie, since the age of six, wanted to be a soccer football player. She started playing soccer at the age of seven and continued on. When she was seventeen, she decided to take soccer seriously but also wanted to be a doctor. Then she decided to not be a doctor because she saw that it wasn’t the right path for her because it took too long to study medicine.
Julie is a dreamer who believes in change and equality. She saw that women did not have as many opportunities as men, so she decided that there must be a World Cup for women. She fought for women’s soccer in America and now there is a Women’s World Cup. “I am the only women broadcaster covering the FIFA World Cup for 2010,” said Julie. She said “In most parts of the world women are not taken seriously, but woman are doing it for themselves.”
Women all over the world are tired of people discriminating against them, telling them you can’t do this and that. Women are starting to stand up for their rights and are achieving their goals. Women are tired of men, and other people not listening to their voice, they believe they can do it and that it all starts with one person.
