GlobalGirl Media went on trip to visit Constitution Hill in Johannesburg. On the 4th of July 2011. They went there so that they could learn more about freedom, the past and the people who fought for us to be free.
In South Africa they did not have freedom until 1994. It is good to know that there were people who fought for this country to be free. It is important tom learn more about freedom.
Before these people fought we had no freedom of speech, religion or movement. We had no right of marrying other races, and to go attend a same school with other races.
Today, we are allowed to marry and attend the very same school with other races. From 1994, South Africa was represented by a black President. Even black females are in politics now. Now everybody has a right to raise a voice. We do not have to carry our identity books when we are going to town or walking on the street.
We share with other races now. We work with them. We compete with them. We live like them. All because of our heroes, our victors, who fought for us to be free.
