Therese Howard, a journalist for Zoopy, visited the GlobalGirl Media Soweto bureau, to encourage the girls who are currently doing media and journalism. She was inspired by them and opened up to them about her personal life as a journalist, her work hours and the events she gets to attend.
Howard has been working in Johannesburg for four years now. She is originally from London and even spent some time in the United States. Howard showed the girls clips of her work, and interviews with celebrities like Caster Seminya. She even went to the South Africa Music Awards (SAMAs).
Howard told the girls if they want to work in TV they have shoot and edit very quickly on a tight deadline. She only has four hours to finish a story! At GlobalGirl Media we have a few days so everyone was really surprised. The visit was great and very informative.
