EVP of Content at ESPN visits GlobalGirls

John Skipper, Executive Vice President of Content for ESPN, visited the GlobalGirl News Bureau in Soweto, and spoke with GlobalGirl Reporters about careers in broadcast journalism and encouraged the girls to follow their dreams. “ Mr.Skipper helped me realize that no matter how difficult your background is, you can still make it in life, “said Skye Raven Smith. Mr. Skipper screened several GlobalGirl reports, and gave constructive feedback on story structure, camerawork, and what it takes to be an on-camera reporter. Mr. Skipper and his son Clay joined in a special “soccer dance” as taught girls from Port Elizabeth, after which Team Ice Breakers conducted an interview with Mr. Skipper.
